BAR SOPHIA

Bar Sophia is a neighbourhood Athenian wine bar in Glen Iris, designed to feel warm, spirited and effortlessly social. The space is anchored by rich walnut timber, softly diffused lighting and a lively front bar, creating an intimate backdrop for long nights of shared plates, wood-fire cooking and generous hospitality. Drawing on the relaxed energy of contemporary Greek wine bars, the interior balances old-world warmth with a modern, unfussy sensibility—inviting locals to drop in for a glass or linger late over a bottle. The project was designed by Taylor Thornton while working as Senior Interior Designer at Anthology, for the team behind Melbourne favourite Marameo.
